My name is Sunniva, and Lucknow Lostboys is the result of a longtime dream I’ve had of expressing my creativity and my interests together.
The name of the studio represents the idea of our generation as a lost one. It seems that we are only just starting to find our way back to our roots (thus the current popularity of the idea of authenticity) and finding ways to reimagine our interaction with the natural world.
About Lucknow Lostboys
My name is Sunniva, and Lucknow Lostboys is my creative endeavour as my partner and I begin a new life in New Zealand. In the fall of 2016 we quit our jobs back in Ontario, sold most of what we owned, and packed up to move to New Zealand. Now that we’re here, we’re hoping to find a little sailboat on which to live, make art, write, whittle some spoons, and explore the beautiful coasts of the North Island.
At Lucknow Lostboys you’ll find my collage work, edible field guides, watercolours and other creations.
In One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, author Alexander Solzhenitsyn writes “In our village, folks say God crumbles up the old moon into stars.” Here’s to crumbling the hulk of our old lives into a bright new adventure! Welcome to our journey.
